Join the Bishop for the Opening of Pregnancy Solutions!
Great news! Bishop Dewane will be joining us for the open house at Pregnancy Solutions’ new Port Charlotte office on Wednesday, October 13, from 9:00 to 10:00am. You’re invited!
Please plan to join us for the blessing of the center and invite others, especially priests, deacons and group leaders. Now that the Pregnancy Careline Center is closed, it is important that Catholics in particular be introduced to Pregnancy Solutions. I highly recommend that you join me for the open house and tour. The address is 950 Tamiami Trail, Unit 105, Port Charlotte. It is in the Murdock area, on the right side heading north on Tamiami Trail, just south of Toledo Blade. It is in the long grey building, next door to Southern Technical College (on the north end of the building). You can find a map and directions on their website at www.pregnancysolutions.org. Take advantage of this opportunity to see their space, meet the team and ask any questions you might have.
Last year the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) launched a new program called Walking with Moms in Need. It’s goal is to make sure that every person in the pews would know where to send a pregnant woman for help if they heard about her needs. The best thing they can do is to send such a woman to the local pregnancy help center – along with the father of the baby. In Charlotte County, that would be Pregnancy Solutions. It’s important in particular for leaders of organizations, groups and ministries to see Pregnancy Solutions for themselves. It’s one thing to know the name; it’s another thing to see and experience it for yourself.
Pregnancy Solutions opened it’s first Port Charlotte office on April 25, 2017, on Caring Way, one block behind the local abortion center. Fortunately, that abortion facility just closed on September 3. Now we need to do all that we can to help women find the services they need so they don’t contact Planned Parenthood or any other abortion center. Pregnancy Solutions had a grand opening of their new office on September 12, right next to a technical college where they will be easily accessible to the students there.
Do not misunderstand anything you may see on their website. The wording is to encourage any woman, particularly those considering abortion, to contact them about all of their options. The abortion information they give should discourage anyone from choosing the abortion option. Their mission is to end the demand for abortion – period.
