From Fr. Leszek

“I want to thank you for your generosity, patience, and kindness for the past six years. I shall never forget you. Again, thank you. Pray for me, as I will pray for you. At this coming Sunday, I invite you to participate at the farewell reception following Mass in the Parish Center. God bless all of you, and may God reward you as only he can.” -Fr. Leszek

The parable of the Prodigal Son – or better, the Merciful Father – is such a fitting reading this Sunday, as we bid farewell to Fr. Les. In his quiet, joyful way, he has shared the merciful love of God the Father, a true shepherd after the heart of Christ the Good Shepherd.

I met Fr. Les at Epiphany Cathedral, where he often celebrates the Polish Mass. People were drawn to his loving heart and ready smile, and I can only imagine how that same spirit touched so many lives and hearts here at San Pedro over these last six years.

Fr. Les welcomed me warmly and introduced me to all the staff when I first arrived here. His love for the people and his eagerness for the parish to thrive and grow was evident – and contagious. Fr. Les, may the Lord reward you for your dedicated service here at San Pedro, and may he bless you abundantly in the ministry he has in store for you!

From the Desk of Deacon Rich

When someone in our family is given a new opportunity and leaves our home to pursue that opportunity, we often have a lot of mixed emotions. We feel so thankful that that person is part of our family. Thankful for the wonderful memories we have. Thankful for the relationship we have developed.

We’re happy for the new opportunities for the person who means so much to us, but we know how much we will miss him when he’s gone.

Those are the feelings many of us have right now as we see our Father Les move on to serve our Lord in new and different ways.

We have been so blessed by his love of God, his love of God’s church and his love of us. His gentleness and compassion, his sense of humor, and his wonderful hugs will stay with us!

We pray our God will continue to bless Father Les and all those he ministers to in the same way he has blessed us with the gift of Father Les! “Well done my good and faithful servant!”

-Deacon Rich
